As the Editor for the Smart Bride, and having seen hundreds of weddings from the getting ready stage through to the goodbyes at the reception, here's our five top time saving tips for a wedding. All shared from inside actual weddings days. Not only will these save you time, but they will also melt away any stress on your wedding day too!

Tip #1
Have one of your bridesmaids or a friend go with you to the final fitting for your wedding gown (or in the case of an off the rack gown, have them go with you to pick the gown up) and have the dress expert show them how to do your gown up the right way.
SMART BRIDE TIP : A crotchet hook can be a VERY handy tool for tackling the tricky little button loops on a wedding day.
Tip #2
Keep an area photographer ready for your professional photographer. Clear away all your 'getting ready' things and tidy up a spot so when the time comes, the photographer has an area to work in should time become limited for bridal portraits.
Tip #3
Have the bouquets arrive in time for when the photographer is due to arrive (or earlier). So they are there for the pictures. This goes for the groom's buttonhole flowers too.
SMART BRIDE TIP : Buttonhole flowers are worn on the lapel. Use the provided pin to go from behind the lapel, take it through the leaf of the buttonhole flower and then back through the lapel, this is best way of attaching a buttonhole to a jacket.

Tip #4
If you haven't had any instructions from your photographer as to when they want you to get dressed, encourage your bridesmaids to get ready around half hour before the photographer is due to arrive so they are ready to help you into your gown and be in their attire as the photographer captures you getting ready.

Tip #5
Up until they're needed for photography make sure your bouquets are in vases with water so they can be as fresh as possible for the day ahead. Take a paper towel, or a towel and pat the bottom of the bouquet before you hold it close to your gowns to remove any excess water and avoid having it transfer to your gown.
